It's close to midnight and something evil's lurking from the dark. Under the moonlight, you see a sight that almost stops your heart. Happy Halloween!!! Yep, the lyrics to one of the most popular songs around this time of the year. Later, we'll have some fun by pointing out some "thrilling" facts about Michael Jackson's Thriller video. But first, let's talk about this beautiful weather. The temps are perfect for getting the best sleep and per Google, the ideal temperatures for a good night's sleep is between 60 and 69. The best part, no high electric bill for the next several months; at least 8 months.


And as you all know, Election Day is on Tuesday, November 5, 2024. It's going to be an exciting election. I'm getting ready to celebrate the results or possiblly face disappointment. I don't know what to expect, but make sure to go out and cast your vote. It isn't solely about the presidency, but there are quite a few important propositions that need attention. The closest drop box located to Lake Forest Shores is at the South Orange County Resource Center located at 22481 Aspan Street in Lake Forest. It's less than a mile drive from our community. BTW - The Beach & Tennis Club no longer accepts voting ballots, so don't waste your time going there to drop off your ballot.

Now, it's time to get into the Halloween spirit. In a way, it's too bad that there are no tricker treaters in our community. On the positive, it simply means another quiet day at home to catch up on my horror movies. If you do have kids and you're going out tonight, please be safe and enjoy all of the creative costumes and decorations.

I was a young kid in my last year of junior high back in those days. Wow! I'm starting to feel old. I still remember listening to the song in my room on the radio. Of course, the video scared me.
