Happy birthday, America! And the best way to celebrate is by enjoying firework displays, grilling on the barbie, spending quality time with family and friends, and simply enjoying our freedoms; which seems debatable at times. Still, America is one of the best countries in the world and it should not be forgotten. America is a true gem where all people have the right to express themselves to a certain extent without persecution. Now, whether the American dream is still attainable or not, it all depends on the individual and of course, those at the top that are running the show. The beauty is that our great country is made up of 50 states, so you have the freedom to go and check out any other place until you find one that suits your needs.


Of course, no place is perfect. Yet, people are managing and I've known a few that have made the move and don't regret it one bit. If that time should come, California will still be around to welcome them back.

So, what are you going to do on the 4th of July? I've always talked about firework events, but let's focus on "SALES". The majority of grocery and retail stores will be open; except for Costco. The items to look for are big ticket items, such as TV's, appliances, furniture and perhaps a new A/C unit.

Remember, Amazon Prime Day is July 16-17, 2024. That's where you will find a lot of deals, especially when it comes to electronics. Still, don't forget to price check with their competition; Walmart and Target.

If you're feeling adventurous and looking for some fun under the sun, then head over to the Champagne and Brunch Bash at the Beach & Tennis Club from 9:00am - 6:00pm. There will be lots of food, drinks, music and fun activities for everyone to enjoy. This is an annual event at the Beach & Tennis Club, so don't worry about missing it; more will come.

No matter what you do, I'm sure you'll have a great time. As for me, I'll be taking advantage of my day off by relaxing at home with the A/C on blast. Yep, that's my type of vacation.

With the hot weather approaching, make sure that you schedule your A/C maintenance check to avoid any unsuspecting issue mid-summer when the heat is at its peak. If you're looking for a reference, you can always reach out to me. I've been using Rojas Air Conditioning and I'm quite happy with their services. And no, I don't get any type of advertising commission.

As for the latest that's happening at Lake Forest Shores, I don't have anything to bring up. I do have a few issues that should be addressed, but not right now.

To be honest, I'm disappointed with the management company, Crummack Huseby, and how things are being handled. It seems there is no sense of urgency for getting certain issues resolved. Moreover, I question the efficiency of our security patrol, pest control and landscaping. We're paying for these services, yet I don't think we're getting our money's worth.

We'll get more into it at a later time. For the meantime, enjoy a fantastic day full of fun activities, delicious foods and spectacular firework displays.

And remember, summer isn't only for the kids. The Summer Bar is back at Beach & Tennis Club at the North Pool Deck on Sundays between 12:00pm - 5:00pm. It's a great way to get your vitamin D by soaking up some sun with your favorite drink in hand.
