Recognizing Hard Work
September 5, 2022
It's Labor Day weekend, a federal holiday to recognize the many contributions workers have made to America’s strength, prosperity and well-being! In celebration, many will stay close to home for some fun in the sun and others will take that trip to far away lands. No matter your plans, I think we can all agree the temps are a bit on the hot side. This calls for finding ways to get comfy and cool down. So if you're wanting to soak up some sun and replenish your vitamin D levels, there is the Beach & Tennis Clubhouse with access to multiple pools and a lounge w/ comfy seating, kitchen and most importantly, A/C. In addition, let's not forget our own community pool that is within a hop, skip and a jump. Some of you may find it more enjoyable and relaxing to stay home; like me... You know, "there's no place like home" - Wizard of Oz. But one thing is for sure, let's not forget that Labor Day is in recognition of all those hard workers who have contributed to the growth and prosperity of America.
And now, it's celebration time!
Besides the kids being in school and the high cost of living, there are a few events coming our way. Today, September 5, 2022, the clubhouse will be serving a champagne brunch filled with music and activities. Plus, Boy Scout Troop 628 will be hosting a BBQ lunch, but make sure that you got your tickets. It is FREE for members, but all guests will have to pay $15. I'm not sure if there are any exceptions to purchasing tickets at the door.
On September 12,2022, Monday Night Football begins! Cash bar opens at 5:00pm and "homemade" dinners are on sale for $9 per plate. (Cash only)
Karaoke night will be on every 2nd Friday of each month; the next one being on September 9, 2022 @ 7:00pm.
There isn't much happening, but one last mention. The annual garage sale event for those wantin to declutter and make quick cash (hopefully), is happening October 8, 2022. Spaces are available. The cost for two spaces is $10.00, plus sellers will receive a complimentary donut and hot cup of coffee to start the morning...Yummy!
And lastly when it comes to the Beach & Tennis Club, the board will meet in October to review the draft budget. Most likely, it means an increase. A warning has already been disclosed in the monthly newsletter. Since the building of the lagoon, that is unusable, HOA fees have consistently increased annually for whatever reasons; some being questionable.
It is a wonderful amenity if you're using the facilities. If not, it is the same as throwing money out the window and it's getting more and more expensive each year. But luckily for me, it won't have too negative of an impact on my finances because I plan on winning the lottery.
Yep, that's me. If you see me around the neighborhood, say "Hello"...
Anyways, until next time!
